A Call For
OCEAN HEALERS

Chants

Song and chant for Ocean Healing Ceremony

Interfaith Bhajan to the Divine Feminine
  by Gina Sala

Modified by K. Bowditch for emphasis on Ocean
spirits and to include Grandmother Moon.

This is a call and response, gathering chant. The Leader sings the verse; it is sung back by the others. Same with the second line. Goddess names are inserted, and some variation allows for honoring the traditions of the different faiths. ("Allelujia" -Christian for "Jaya Jaya", and "Ah Ho!" for Native American being an example)

"MA" Chant:

All members of the group join hands and begin singing the word "MA" each in their own timing and rhythm. The "MA" is a single repeated syllable, held long and low. As the group sings, each member slowly increases the volume and raises the note of the "MA" up the scale. The group raises the joined hands in a great rising circle, until the "unified/broken" "MA" is loud, high and strong. At a signal from the Priest or Priestess, the group loosens hands, directing them to the center and the cups of seawater, as they shout the last bit of the last "MA!" All stand in silence after this, hearing the reverberation, as the water accepts the energetic blessing.

Ele, Ele, Tau Mai
  Melody is  A   A    A   A,        G       A   A
                 E   le,   E  le,       Ta      u   Mai

A softly sung, calming chant, done in unison repeatedly.

This translates: "May Great Peace Descend". "Ele" rhymes with "Jelly". A sitting chant, and
singers can use descending hands to emphasize the intent. This is good to do surrounding a distressed person (like the Ocean), or to call for peace.

Mother Ocean! *

Mother, Mother Ocean,
Rolling wild and free!
Mother, Mother Ocean,
Our Life began with Thee!
Mother Ocean, Mother Ocean, Mother Ocean!  (Six times)

Mother, Mother Ocean,
Rolling wild and free!
Mother, Mother Ocean,
All Gratitude to Thee!
Mother Ocean, Mother Ocean, Mother Ocean! (Three times)
